Your wedding deserves to be documented in a way that feels honest to the people, place and energy of the day—not shaped into someone else’s version of what a wedding should look like.
Courtney Rae Films offers photography and filmmaking rooted in observation, connection and the beautifully unscripted. Collections are available with Courtney or with one of our trusted studio artists, with every experience thoughtfully guided and edited by Courtney from beginning to end.

Wedding films captured by one of Courtney Rae Films’ trusted studio artists.
Your studio artist brings the same documentary-minded approach to the wedding day, while Courtney remains your point of contact throughout planning and personally oversees the creative direction and editing of your finished films.
Studio artist collections are an especially lovely fit for couples who connect with the work and experience of Courtney Rae Films but do not need Courtney personally behind the camera.

Lead collections weave together digital footage, camcorder and Super 8 film to preserve not only what your wedding looked like, but how it moved, sounded and felt. The approach is observant and intuitive, with space for the unpolished interactions and fleeting details that make the day entirely your own.

Q: What is your turn around time?
A: Photography galleries are typically delivered within 8 weeks, and full video galleries can be expected within 12 to 16 weeks of your wedding date, while the trailer is delivered before that time.
Q: Can you explain how booking a studio artist works?
A: I have studio artists based out of Minneapolis, Madison and New York City. My studio artists are videographers who have worked for me for at least 2 years. They are trained in the same candid, home video style and fly-on-the wall approach. While I will remain your point-of-contact throughout the booking & planning process, they are available for a phone chat if you'd like to meet beforehand! Otherwise they will show up on your wedding day, capture your day, then I will edit everything. Happy to answer any other questions on a call!
Q: Do you travel?
A: Yes, Courtney typically travels all over for weddings while her studio artists stay local to their home base.
Q: How do you go about editing or choosing songs?
A: I will send you a couple questionnaires throughout the planning process to gain insight on your music taste, priorities of the day, and how you and yours exist together in the world. Getting to know you through messages, phone calls (if that's your jam) and Instagram is very helpful for me in my process, as well!
Q: How do we go about booking you or one of your studio artists?
A: Please fill out our contact form and I will get back to you within 24 hours. From there, we can hop on a quick consult call or discuss your options via text or email. Once you have decided on the collection that best fits your day, I will send you a deposit invoice (50% of the total investment) and a contract to fill out. Once both are completed, your day is reserved. Contracts expire within one week of me sending them out.
Q: Do you have a travel fee?
A: I charge travel at cost. For example, round trip flight, car rental (if necessary) and at least two nights hotel accommodations. I usually book these myself then invoice for them once I have that completed. If your wedding is taking place outside of Minneapolis, we charge $40 per traveling hour. If it is over 2 hours outside of Minneapolis, we will likely also require one night hotel stay, for safety reasons, the night of the wedding.
Q: Do you capture full wedding weekends?
A: Yes, absolutely! I will create a few custom options for you to choose from if you plan to have events over multiple days. That is my favorite way to capture weddings!
